Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan 

Engagement Background 

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan manages the production, sales, and distribution of Coca-Cola products in Japan. There are over 5 million vending machines widely accessible in public places. The goal of this engagement was to show Coca-Cola's management data monetisation solution vision and how data collected from vending machines, locations, and product movements can be used to build insights, understand customer behaviours and be commercialised to create business value.

Applying Human-Centered Design Process

As this was a time-intensive engagement, I had to customise the Human Centre Design processes and work in a co-create model with the CCBJ team, in Japan. Here is how I simplified the HCD tasks at different stages and successfully delivered the solution vision. 

Conducting Discovery Workshops :
1. To identify user personas & key tasks 
2. Understand needs, motivations and pain points
3. Map their digital journey.

I conducted 3-day user research and multiple design thinking workshops to clearly understand the data collected, existing analytics, user personas, their information needs, main tasks, to build journey maps and what key information the personas needed to make the right decisions. 

Story boarding and Playback

With the help of a graphic designer based in the Japan office, we created a storyboard to highlight user journeys, pain points and frustrations and what can be improved. This created a huge impact in communicating the urgent need for data insights and monetisation solutions.

High Fidelity Prototyping

With alignment from stakeholders and user journey maps, I created the above high-fidelity wireframes. I used the  SAP Fiori for IOS SDK controls and guidelines to build consistent experiences for multiple user personas.

Designing for Generative AI Content

I have to work extensively with cross-functional teams such as sales, data scientists and architects from multiple SAP locations to ensure the scalability and integration of generative AI content. This includes defining the AI recommendations and interaction patterns and presenting the data in an easy, consumable visualisation chart format. 

Delivering  Business Outcome

Achieving business impact involved teamwork with cross-functional teams from various areas and SAP locations. I presented the Digital Experience strategy, user journeys, and the benefits of AI in Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan's vending machine operations. I showcased clickable mockups to illustrate how the SAP AI platform enables data-driven decisions, enhances efficiency, personalizes customer experiences, supports proactive maintenance, and offers valuable market insights. The CCBJ top management was highly impressed with the holistic show-and-tell expertise we demonstrated within a short time, leading to CCBJ engaging in the next steps for the deal and commercials discussions.
